Man charged after fatal Raleigh accident that caused one to be ejected from car

RALEIGH, North Carolina (WTVD) -- A Raleigh man has been charged with murder after a fatal accident caused a man to be ejected from his car.

According to police, around 3:15 a.m. they received a call about a suspicious vehicle behind the Walmart in the 1000 block of New Hope Church Road.

When police were on their way, they saw an SUV matching the description provided by the 911 caller.

The SUV was driving at high speeds, headed eastbound on New Hope Road. When the SUV approached the intersection the driver kept going and crashed into a taxi, ejecting the driver.

The unoccupied cab then struck a laundromat on Atlantic Avenue.

The suspect, 24-year-old Dreshawn Bynum was charged with murder, larceny of a vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, fleeing to elude arrest, hit and run, and driving while impaired.

The identity of the taxi driver will not be released until family members are notified.
