A man is charged after allegedly hitting a Wake County deputy in a head-on crash in the area of Poole Road and Grasshopper Road in eastern Wake County Friday morning.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol said Deputy Joseph Coley was searching for another crash in the area when a Kia minivan driven by 56-year-old Carlos Alberto Moya of Raleigh crossed the centerline and hit his cruiser.

Deputy Coley was taken to WakeMed to be treated for minor injuries and was later released. Moya was listed in stable condition.
