DURHAM (WTVD) --A large truck fire in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 in Durham County near the Streets at Southpoint mall stalled traffic Friday afternoon.
Pictures from ABC11 Eyewitness viewers showed the cab of the truck was fully involved in flames.
The truck was stopped on the shoulder just feet from a new pedestrian bridge for the American Tobacco Trail, but the bridge was not damaged.
It wasn't clear what started the fire, but there were no reports of injuries.
As of 3:45 p.m., the incident was still affecting traffic. But by 5:30 p.m., all lanes of I-40 westbound were reopened.
