Light dusting of snow on northern Outer Banks

A light dusting of snow along the northern Outer Banks has prompted a winter weather advisory.

The National Weather Service in Morehead City issued the advisory early Tuesday.

Forecasters said icy roads were possible across northern Dare County until 10 a.m.

As much as a half inch of snow was possible from Nags Head to Duck.

Temperatures were in the upper 20s early Tuesday.
