RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The Raleigh Police Department has made an arrest after investigators say children were assaulted at a north Raleigh amusement center.

Police say it happened December 5 in the laser tag section of Adventure Landing.

ABC11 first reported the incident last month.

Police say they got tips after the story aired that led them to 19-year-old China McCullers. She's now charged with two counts of assault on a child under 12.

According to a mother who spoke with ABC11 in December, McCullers assaulted her 7-year-old and 9-year-old daughters - slapping and shoving them.

Jasmin Kelly said she also watched as McCullers tried to punch another mother who intervened when children complained they were being verbally and physically abused.

Kelly said the mother told the young woman, "'You're cursing at our kids and you are pushing our kids.' All the kids are saying, 'She's pushing us', you know, at this point."

The suspect then said, '"F-blah, blah, get out of my way.' And she went, she just went to swing at her", Kelly added.

A uniformed Raleigh police officer hired by Adventure Landing to work off-duty took McCullers outside to defuse the situation but apparently didn't realize a child has complained that the young woman hit her.

McCullers was charged based on tips, surveillance video, and witness statements.
