SANFORD, N.C. (WTVD) --When someone calls your phone, you expect it to be from someone you know. For Angela Pass, she was getting countless calls from strangers wanting to speak to the Social Security office in Sanford.
Angela got so many calls in one day she had to shut her phone off.
"All these calls are for the Social Security Administration," Angela said. "I told them I wasn't the Social Security Administration, but then I was wondering why they had my number and then I Googled it and that's how I found out."
Google listed the Sanford Social Security Administration's phone number as Angela's.
"One morning I got like 15 calls before I could get out of bed," she said. "They leave messages, a man left me his Social Security number."
Frustrated, she says she went to the Sanford office.
"They told me there was nothing they could do and they didn't have a 919 number, only a 1-800 number," she said.
I got in touch with Google and Angela's number is no longer listed under the social security office.
"I've tried everything, everything I could think of, no one could help me. Everybody but you, thank you," Angela said.
It is unknown how Angela's cell phone number ever got listed under that office in the first place, but she says now that it's been changed, there have been no more calls.
