CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Thrift 2 Gift Store in Cary is a Christian based nonprofit which provides funding for other nonprofits through profits.

A few times a year, Thrift 2 Gift holds a "Dollar Days Sale" where for two days, all regularly priced clothing, shoes, and accessories are sold for $1. The Winter sale is Friday and Saturday, Jan. 29-30 at the Cary store and the newly opened Apex location.

"The proceeds are benefiting New Homes Ministries," said George King, Thrift 2 Gift founder.

New Home Ministries is a new nonprofit providing a home for women on South Swain Street in Raleigh, King said.

"It's a great ministry that helps incarcerated women get back into life situations with families and work," he said.

Besides the dollar sale, special priced clothing will be 50 percent off, and King says there are plenty of donated items to replenish the stores.

"Friday is a great day to shop and Saturday is a great day to shop," King said. "After Friday, we put out new stock on Friday night. Housewares and clothes and boots and shoes, it's all new Friday and Saturday mornings," he said.

Both stores will be open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
