Raid of Durham home yields illegal drugs, pill press

A Durham man is accused of making drugs with the intent to sell them after law officers found 2,700 tablets believed to be Xanax at his home.

Investigators with the Durham County Sheriff's Anti-Crime and Narcotics Unit arrested Gary Lewis Cantor, 26, of Kipling Way on Friday.

He is charged with numerous felony crimes including manufacturing controlled substances and possession of controlled substances with the intent to sell or deliver them.

Some of the pills and other items seized from Gary Cantor's residence.

Investigators obtained a search against Cantor, in part, after neighbors complained of marijuana odor coming from Cantor's residence.

During the search, the law officers found, along with the pills, approximately 280 grams of marijuana, more than two dozen vials of a substance believed to be anabolic steroids, and a device used to manufacture tablets, more commonly known as a pill press.

Anyone with additional information about this investigation or other drug-related criminal activity in Durham County is asked to call the Sheriff's anonymous crime tip line at 919-560-0940.
