Fayetteville police searching for 21-year-old man wanted in Fayetteville shooting

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Authorities in Fayetteville are searching for 21-year-old Christopher Davis who is wanted in connection with the shooting of a 63-year-old man.

On Monday, police were called to the 500 block of Moore Street about 7:15 a.m. about the reported shooting.

When officers arrived, they found 63-year-old Mason Montgomery with multiple gunshot wounds to his hands and feet. He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in stable condition.

Authorities are trying to locate Davis, who lives with Montgomery. Davis is the son of Montgomery's girlfriend, according to police.

He was last seen fleeing Moore Street on foot toward Hillsboro Street. Officials said Davis is known to frequent the areas along Hillsboro Street from Rowan Street to Ramsey Street.

Authorities also said Davis took a gun with him when he fled the scene and should be considered armed and dangerous.

He is described as a black man standing 5' 7" tall, weighing about 190 lbs., with black hair in short braids, and brown eyes.

Davis was last seen wearing a brown coat, light brown pants, red shoes, and he was reported to be carrying a brown Gucci bag.

Police said he is facing a string of previous charges including carrying a concealed weapon, communicating threats, injury to personal property, drug offenses, vandalism, possession of stolen property, misdemeanor larceny, unauthorized use of a motor conveyance, and several driving offenses.
