Raleigh house fire damages duplex near Wade Avenue

A house fire on Brooks Avenue affects traffic on Wade Avenue.

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- About 30 firefighters responded to a house fire in the 1100 block of Brooks Avenue on Tuesday afternoon in Raleigh.

The call came about 3:30 p.m. and no one was home at the time of the fire.

No one was injured in the fire.

The fire appears to have started in the back of the home, which is a single-story wood duplex.

Neighbors told ABC11 the house is a rental property, and that firefighters had the flames under control within minutes.

Raleigh police directing traffic at the intersection of Wade Avenue and Brooks Avenue, and traffic was slower than usual at this typically busy spot.

As of late Tuesday evening, firefighters had still not determined what caused the fire.
