DURHAM (WTVD) --A crash has closed part of University Drive at Starlight Drive in Durham after a car slammed into a utility pole Wednesday morning.
It happened around 5:15 a.m. in the Forest Hills area.
A black vehicle smashed into the power pole, causing the car to overturn on its side and the pole to snap.
It is unclear how many people were in the car.
The accident has left about 700 residents in the area without power, according to Duke Energy.
Authorities tell ABC11 that University Drive will likely be closed until noon or 1 p.m. while power crews work to make repairs.
