WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Two brothers were charged in a cyberattack that caused major disruption for days on the Wake Tech Community College's website in February 2015.

Bradley Gray Hoffman and Christopher Neil Hoffman were both charged with denial of government computer services.

The attacks happened from Feb. 20 to Feb. 23, 2015, shutting down the site and keeping students and faculty from accessing their email and other online accounts.

School officials say Wake Tech police contacted Twitter after the brothers were tweeting about it and the company helped track the IP address linked to their home.

Authorities executed search warrants and took computers from the home to examine.

Bradley was a student at the time of the attack and his brother was in high school.

The school said they had to hire a company to implement new security measures such as a new firewall.
