Feeling like Spring
It's about to warm up around the Triangle

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Meteorologist Steve Stewart says we are about to see some highly anticipated warm weather after our seemingly endless winter.

"A storm system pushing eastward today will help bring about a pleasant end to the weekend with skies turning out mostly sunny and temperatures climbing a bit higher than Saturday, nearing 60 degrees Fahrenheit in the afternoon," Stewart said.

The steady rise in temperatures will continue into much of the upcoming week. Stewart said a flow of tropical air will make it feel more like late April or early May across the Triangle.

Temperatures will likely climb into the mid and upper 70s by Wednesday and Thursday.

This area of high pressure will begin to break down on Friday, but any moisture will hold off until the start of the weekend as a front approaches from the north.

Overall, an absolutely beautiful first full week of March is in store. Enjoy!
