RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A major milestone took place Thursday morning for the new cathedral under construction in Raleigh.

Around 9 a.m., the new Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral had its dome installed.

Dozens turned out to witness a crane lifting the copper-roofed dome and placing it on top of the cathedral's frame.

Bishop Michael Burbidge and priests sang during the event.
