Pediatric Cancer Partnership
The V Foundation and the WWE are joining forces

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Every year, 12,000-15,000 children are newly diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. Finding a cure for pediatric cancers is a top priority for the V Foundation for Cancer Research.

Now, the V Foundation is teaming up with World Wrestling Entertainment to help fund pediatric cancer research.

The V Foundation and WWE have entered into a multi-year partnership to raise funds through Connor's Cure Fund. The Fund was started by WWE to provide research money to the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. The new partnership will allow the Connor's Cure to support other research centers and hospitals.

Connor's Cure was established in honor of 8-year-old WWE fan Connor Michalek, a patient at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC who battled medulloblastoma, a rare tumor that affects the brain and spinal cord. To date, Connor's Cure has raised nearly $1 million and assisted more than 100 families around the world.
