CLAYTON (WTVD) -- A teenage girl in Clayton got the scare of her life when her house burst into flames Friday while she was inside.
It happened on Nancy Court just before 5 p.m.
Town officials said the teen ran out of the house after seeing the flames in the back.
She was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
Her mother, father and a sibling were not home at the time, but the family lost everything.
The intensity of the fire even burned some siding off a neighboring home.
The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, which appears to have started in the laundry area.
