DURHAM (WTVD) -- In an official statement released on Tuesday afternoon, Duke University said they are evaluating their women's basketball program.

"The welfare and success of our student-athletes are among Duke's highest priorities," they said in the statement. "To that end, we are in the process of conducting an evaluation of the Duke women's basketball program."

They said it is being conducted by a human resources professional outside of the athletics department. Coach McCallie is aware and eager to assist, Duke said.

The school did not release any additional details about the nature of the evaluation.
