Wake County man steals kids' collection box at Walmart

ZEBULON, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Wake County man is charged with ripping off a collection box designed to help kids on Thursday.

Jared Michael Pressel, 27, was arrested at the Walmart on E. Gannon Avenue in Zebulon. According to arrest records, Pressel grabbed a Children's Miracle Network box that contained about $200 of assorted change and cash.

Pressel is also charged with threatening a clerk with a knife. Police say Pressel stole a pack of cigarettes, as well.
