Authorities: Body surfaces at Falls Lake after week-long search

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Authorities said a body was recovered at Falls Lake Saturday morning after a week-long search to find 69-year-old Claude Weaver Jr.

Weaver fell overboard during a boating accident on Monday. Officials confirmed to ABC11 the body recovered Saturday was Weaver's.

Officers and rescue personnel are on scene.

Weaver was on the boat with 54-year-old Durham resident Tammy Albright, whom it is believed was his fiancee. She was sent to Duke Hospital after the accident with water in her lungs but has since been released.

Officials said a preliminary investigation suggests they hit a wake and it threw them overboard.
