Fort Bragg soldiers return home after 9 months in Kuwait

FORT BRAGG (WTVD) -- We're pleased to announce some Fort Bragg soldiers arrived home late Tuesday night following a long deployment.

Members of the 1st Sustainment Command Theater had been deployed to Kuwait to provide logistical support.

After being gone for 9 long months it was a happy homecoming for them and their loved ones.

"First and foremost you think of your kids, your family, just being home, all the times you missed, birthdays, holidays," Shacoty Gills said.

The soldiers were relieved by fellow members of the same unit who are now taking their turn as part of a routine rotation at command headquarters.

"Right now they're supporting efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan we have soldiers in Jordan," said Col. Johnney Matthews, deputy commanding general, 1st TSC. "If someone needs supplies, anything they want and need to survive, we provide it. Water, food ... anything you see in the news in terms of what the soldiers are doing, executing in that area. If it weren't for these soldiers none of that would happen."
