ABC11 Meteorologist Don "Big Weather" Schwenneker says we could pick up another half inch of rain as we get hit with scattered showers off and on throughout the day. Highs will be in the mid to upper 60s.

Flooding is still an issue in parts of the Triangle after strong thunderstorms Thursday dumped enough rain on south Raleigh to cause flash flooding.

An area at the intersection of Gideon Creek Way and Durham Drive off Tryon Road is still under water. An ambulance caught in the flood was left half submerged. Two EMS workers in the ambulance were not hurt.

Our crew on the scene also witnessed a woman abandoning her flooded SUV in the same area.

The good news is that the storm system will move out just in time for the weekend. Saturday will be a brighter and warmer day, with partly sunny skies and highs in the mid 70s. And we should rise into the lower 80s by Mother's Day. There could be a stray shower Sunday, but all in all, it looks like a great day to celebrate all the wonderful moms out there!
