Fayetteville police investigate fatal shooting early Friday

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Police in Fayetteville are investigating an early morning shooting that left a man dead.

Around 2:40 a.m., officers were called to the 4300 block of Fox Grove Circle about shots fired.

When they arrived, police found 39-year-old Travis Elijah Freeman wounded in a parking lot.

Freeman was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he later passed away.

Detectives with the FPD's Aggravated Assault Unit are investigating the shooting and are requesting anyone with information to contact them.
