Using Facebook to buy, sell, or trade items
Spring cleaning just got social. If you are cleaning out the house and need to get rid of some items or just want to save, it's likely Facebook has a group in your area where you can find thousands of items.
"I've gotten my daughters lots of Lilly Pulitzer dresses," explained Facebook group user Melanie Osborne. She is a single mom of 5 girls who shops, sells, and has given away items on her group, Buy/Trade/Sell Southern Wake Co/Cary/Morrisville/Apex.
Osborne's group has nearly 24,000 members, so, inventory is high and many items sell very fast.
"I posted an item, took pics, posted a pic and had ladies within minutes wanting it," Osborne said.
Many of the groups are private, so, Facebook users must ask to join. Administrators make and enforce the rules.
"Rule is first come first serve," said Osborne.
"You do learn don't post multiple websites, and if you say you want it, you need to make contact or private message them right away or they're going to move to the next person," she said.
