FORT BRAGG (WTVD) -- About 100 soldiers arrived at Pope Army Airfield early Tuesday after a nine-month deployment with the 18th Field Artillery Brigade in the Middle East.

Specialist Curtis Secor was greeted by his wife Marissa and two children, Jocelyn and Zander.

"No words can explain it," Specialist Curtis Secor said. "It's just great to be home."

"It's amazing because he's been gone for so long," Marissa Secor added.

The Raines boys decked in patriotic clothing ran to welcome their hero, their dad Major Jim Raines. Even before he saw him, son Sawyer Raines knew exactly what he'd tell him.

"How much I love him, how much I missed him," Sawyer Raines said.

The soldiers will have about two days off to spend with family and then they'll go through a reintegration program and then they'll get a leave of up to one month.

Welcome home, soldiers! Thank you for your service.
