Fowl problem: Peacocks causing mess in Clayton
CLAYTON, N.C. (WTVD) -- Peacocks are seen by many as a majestic bird, but for some business owners in Clayton, they're causing a big mess.
The peacocks have become a familiar sight for workers at a Clayton office park. However the birds have become a nuisance because they are getting inside the buildings and leaving their waste behind.
As a solution, a woman was hired to humanely get the peacocks to leave. Her company uses border collies for control of birds like geese. She has to figure out how to get the peacocks into another area where the businesses won't have to deal with their droppings.
She said the birds may be someone's pets, but no one has claimed them.
Our crew on the scene said the peacocks were shy and moved away slowly when approached.
