Shark Tank open auditions in Raleigh

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- If you have an idea, a product, or a business, you are invited to come and try out for ABC's hit show "Shark Tank".

The show is hosting an open casting call Friday at Marbles Museum in Raleigh. Wristbands will be passed out from 9-11. And, you don't have to camp out, anyone in line by 11 will get a wristband and can make their pitch.

You don't need props or a PowerPoint presentation. Producers say it's a pitch you could make to Mark Cuban standing in an elevator.

"At this stage of the game, we're not so much interested in what you're pitching, it's how you're pitching. It's your passion. I promise you, whatever they're pitching we've probably seen something like it before. But why are we going to move you forward? That's what we want," explained Executive Casting Producer Scott Salyers.

Getting inside, doing your pitch, and leaving should take about 10 minutes and you will know if you will go on in the process within a week or two.

The sharks won't be there. When they see a business on the show, it's for the very first time. But producers who've been doing the show for eight seasons now know what they're looking for.

"This isn't American Idol. We don't want to say no. We want to say yes! We want to say yes to as many people as possible," Salyers said.

His biggest tip? Be excited. Be passionate. Act like you care. What is it about you that's going to move you to the next round? Infomercial energy.
