Police: 'Badly decomposed' body found in Raleigh

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Officers are investigating after a 'badly decomposed' body was found Saturday near a business on Alpinis Drive in Raleigh.

Raleigh officers were called to the scene at 12:22 p.m. The body was found along the woodline, authorities said.

Police told ABC11 the body was badly decomposed, but they do know it's human.

It is unclear whether the person is male or female. Police are unsure how the person died.

The remains are going to the State Medical Examiner's Office for analysis.
