Hundreds of Durham County provisional voters get to recast ballots

Some Durham County voters are getting a second chance to cast a primary ballot.

The State Board of Elections ruled Tuesday that nearly 900 provisional ballots were mishandled in the March primary by county election workers.

The board of elections will mail those voters new ballots.

The board is continuing its criminal investigation into election procedures.

The new ballots will be sent after the June 7 primary.
