NC hiker found tied to tree was sexually assaulted

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- The National Park Service says a missing hiker found tied to a tree in May was sexually assaulted.

Investigators have released a composite sketch of the man who attacked the woman May 12 as she walked near the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 50 years old, with salt-and-pepper hair and partially-grown facial hair.
