Eyewitness reports seeing small plane go down in Cary

CARY (WTVD) -- An ABC11 Eyewitness reported seeing a small plane go down in Cary on Friday evening.

Police and other first responders set up staging areas and searched by land and air but were unable to find any wreckage despite an exhaustive search.

The incident was reported somewhere in the area of Northwest Maynard Road.

First responders assembled in a staging area on High House Road in Cary.

A chopper went up in the Morrisville/Cary area to assist in a search effort. The North Carolina Highway Patrol also assisted.
