Man throws human waste at attorney
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WTVD) -- A man who just learned he's going to jail for 40 years for armed robbery retaliated by throwing feces and urine on his attorney in a Springfield, Ohio courtroom.
The disgusting act was caught on a courtroom surveillance camera.
In court Wednesday, 46-year-old Ricky Hand asked the judge, "Did you just give me 40 years, sir? You just gave me 40 years. Well guess what?" and then pulled pill bottles filled with the human waste from an arm sling and started emptying them on the attorney sitting next to him.
Law enforcement officers quickly tackled Hand and restrained him.
The local sheriff says Hand has committed at least 30 armed robberies and was out on parole when he staged his last holdup in January.
Officials are now looking at their courtroom procedures and how Hand managed to smuggle the bottles in with him without being thoroughly searched.
He's now looking at additional charges related to the assault.
