Boy found unresponsive in Hope Mills pool has died
The 2-year-old was pulled from the pool Monday. He died Friday.

HOPE MILLS, N.C. (WTVD) -- A 2-year-old boy who was pulled unresponsive from a backyard pool on Monday in Hope Mills died Friday, officials said.

On Monday, deputies responded to a call in the 6600 block of Carriage Crossing Drive around 8:45 p.m. They said when they arrived, they learned the boy had been found in the swimming pool unresponsive, but it was not clear how long he was in the pool.

Deputies said the homeowner, Jason Adams, began CPR as soon as the boy was out of the water. EMS took the child to Cape Fear Valley Health Systems' ICU. He was taken off a ventilator Friday, officials said.

Deputies are investigating.
