Deputies search for suspect in Fayetteville Kangaroo store armed robbery

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Deputies in Fayetteville said that thanks to tips from the public, they've identified the suspect in an armed robbery Saturday at the Kangaroo store at 2990 Gillespie Street.

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is looking for 25-year-old Dustin Mantz. They say he entered the store just after 3:20 a.m. with a black rifle and told a customer to get on the ground. According to officials, he stole money from the register and a pack of cigarettes from the customer before fleeing in a greenish/blue car, possibly a Chevrolet Cobalt.

Deputies said Monday that the getaway car was stolen in an earlier robbery.

Authorities said Mantz is known to frequent Highway 301 and areas south of Fayetteville.
