Young alligator tries to hang out at Jacksonville city hall

Young alligator captured outside city hall in Jacksonville, NC
Officers put up cones and were able to wrangle the little gator

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A young alligator was spotted hanging out outside Jacksonville, N.C.'s city hall.

A woman was walking by when she spotted the gator on one side of the building. Wildlife officials were called in and quickly wrangled the small reptile. It was around 2.5 feet long.

They think it's between 8 and 12 years old.

Officials relocated the gator back to its natural habitat.
