APEX (WTVD) --A pizza delivery driver is facing charges after he slammed into a townhouse in Apex Wednesday night.
It happened just after 7:20 p.m. on Branch Line Lane, off Apex Peakway and N. Salem Street.
When police officers arrived, they found a blue car partially inside the home at 979 Branch Line Drive.
Authorities said the driver, 23-year-old Michael Jacob Ferrell of Apex, failed to stop for a stop sign and was struck by another vehicle.
He told police his brakes failed, - a claim which has not yet been confirmed, according to police - causing him to crash into the townhouse.
Neither Ferrell nor the other driver was injured. The home is listed for sale and was unoccupied at the time of the crash.
Ferrall was charged with careless and reckless, failing to stop for a stop sign, and speeding in conjunction with this crash.
Officials said Ferrell was in the process of making a delivery when the accident happened.
