Sex offender arrested in Garner
Quentin Lee Jr. was spotted by a probation officer who called police

GARNER, NC (WTVD) -- A man on the North Carolina sex offender registry was arrested after being at an elementary school in Garner when he was spotted there by a probation officer who contacted police.

An arrest warrant says 24-year-old Quentin Lee Jr. was at Timber Drive Elementary on June 30 during a graduation ceremony.

Under North Carolina law, sex offenders on the registry are not allowed on school grounds.

Lee was convicted in 2009 on several counts of second-degree sex offense in 2008. He was 16 years old at the time.

At a court appearance in Raleigh Wednesday, Lee's girlfriend said he was at the school to support her son who was graduating from 5th grade.
