"What I do is a lawn care ministry," explained Martin. "I provide free lawn care services for the elderly, for handicapped, for senior citizens, and just people that are down on their luck. And, I don't charge anything. And, I come out and leave their yards looking really nice for them."

Martin started mowing for those in need about 10 years ago just to give back. Today, his service is provided by word of mouth referrals, and he also passes out business cards when he meets someone who he feels could benefit from his work.

"My nature in being a good person, my fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc., we get out, we do a lot of things for the community," Martin said. "So, I've always been community oriented and I've been mowing yards for people for free for awhile. I've gotten a network of people that recognize that I do it on a regular basis, and, I've really grown it as a ministry where I'm able to do 40 or 50 yards by myself during the summer."

Martin has provided free services in lawn care all over the Triangle area, and has also helped save a few families from eviction at Christmas time. He has a GoFundMe page for his nonprofit with the goal of buying a new riding mower so he can continue to help families in need, one yard at at time.
