'Armed and dangerous' man arrested in Moore County murder

EAGLE SPRINGS, NC (WTVD) -- The Moore County Sheriff's Office has arrested a suspect in connection with a murder Thursday morning.

Moore County Sheriff Neil Godfrey said a murder warrant was issued for 27-year-old Antonio Deshawn Robinson and deputies took him into custody while he was at a relatives home a short time later.

Earlier in the day, investigators said Robinson went to a home where Robert Dewey Powell was staying - in the 200 block of Sandpit Park Drive - and shot him to death.

Before his arrest, Godfrey said Robinson was considered to be armed and dangerous. The North Carolina Highway Patrol, the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, and Moore County Public Safety assisted in the search.
