Inmate escapes in Granville County

OXFORD, N.C. -- Authorities are trying to capture a man who escaped after a court appearance Monday in Granville County.
The Granville County Sheriff's Department and the N.C. Department of Public Safety are looking for 35-year-old Stephen Hicks.
Authorities said he escaped while in transit to the Granville County Detention Center.
He's serving state prison sentences for larceny of motor vehicles and assault. He also faces a federal prison term of 15 years for a bank robbery in Burlington in 2015.
Anyone who has seen Hicks or has information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Granville County Sheriff's Department.
