SUV found burning in Moore County

CARTHAGE, NC (WTVD) -- Authorities are investigating after an SUV was found engulfed in fire in Moore County early Thursday morning.

Powerful photos from the Aberdeen Times show the vehicle ablaze on Star Ridge Road just off NC Highway 22 between Carthage and Whispering Pines.

It happened around 2 a.m.

Firefighters put out the flames, but the Ford Explorer was already destroyed.

No one was found inside.
