Foot chase clogs traffic on I-40 west

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Saturday morning travelers dealt with a traffic nightmare on I-40 west near Lake Wheeler Road because of a reported foot chase with police.

The right lane was closed to traffic, clogging the highway and causing major delays.

Police said there was a foot chase in the area, and the suspect is in custody.

Authorities have since reopened the lane, and traffic is no longer delayed.

Police have not released any additional information on the foot chase or the suspect.
