Humana Centers offer free services
Workout, attend a seminar, or meet up for bridge, it's all free at Humana Centers

Humana is known for being a health insurance company, but, their free wellness centers, like the one in North Raleigh are very popular.

"It is a great resource. It gets the seniors out of the house and out to meet other people," said Rick Crawford, who uses the North Raleigh center about three times a week for the walking club and many educational classes.

"I think they've done a good job helping seniors to understand and utilize electronics of the age," Crawford said.

"Many of them have no clue of how to use the phone they've bought, so it's good to have someone who is younger explain," he said.

Humana is on the forefront of a growing trend in the insurance industry with 26 centers across the country promoting health and wellness at no cost for the community.

"We've taken an initiative at improving lifelong well being," explained Humana NC Director Patrick Farley.

"Our goal at Humana is to try to engage not only our members, but, other members of the community and friends of friends and try to be a part of something to be active and moving," Farley said.

The centers provide group exercise instruction, educational seminars, healthy snacks, computers and computer classes among other events that are open to the public
