OLIVIA (WTVD) -- Two men were injured Friday when their pickups were involved in a head-on collision on a wet highway.

State troopers responded to a two-vehicle wreck just after 4:45 p.m. on Highway 87 near Olivia Road in Olivia.

Troopers said a GMC pickup going south on Highway 87 hydroplaned on the slick road and went left of center, hitting a Dodge pickup head on.

The driver of the GMC truck, identified as Robert L. Gibson, Jr., 26, of Hope Mills, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Clayton Jackson, 26, of New Bern, was the driver of the Dodge. He was taken to Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford for treatment.
