RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A vehicle transporting a gunshot victim crashed into a power pole early Saturday morning in Raleigh, police said.
Officers were called to Capital Boulevard and I-440 around 4:45 a.m. in connection with a reported shooting.
Once on the scene, police discovered a vehicle had hit a pole, which resulted in downed power lines.
A male gunshot victim was found inside the vehicle. It is not clear if the victim was the driver or a passenger.
The victim was taken to WakeMed.
Capital Boulevard was shut down in the area while crews cleared the scene. Northbound lanes have since been reopened, but as of noon Saturday, southobund lanes were still closed.
