Children found living in home covered in feces
Officials say the floors were soaked in urine, covered in animal feces and there was a dead rat in the freezer.

RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Officers say they found three children living in deplorable conditions the inside their parent's trailer. The floors were soaked in urine and covered in animal feces, and it was infested with cockroaches.

Investigators say they even found a dead rat in the freezer on top of the frozen food.

At least six racoons were in cages on the property, a few dogs and a couple chinchillas were also taken to the animal shelter. A pig was going in and out of the home for feedings.

Sheriff Ken Hendrickson said it was one of the worst living conditions he had observed in his 29 years in law enforcement.

WXIN reports that there were three children living in the house ages 11, 16 and 17.

Ralph E. McKinney, 44, and Amy L. McKinney, 32, were arrested on three counts of neglects of a dependent.
