FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- A woman accused of trying to smother and drown her 2-year-old nephew in Fayetteville made her first court appearance Monday.
Regina Durr, 24, was given a court appointed attorney while her bond remained at $500,000.
Durr is charged with attempted first degree murder and felony child abuse. She was arrested Saturday after officers responded to a call of an unconscious child in the 800 block of Zadock Drive.
Police said Durr was watching her nephew at a relative's house when the incident occurred.
Authorities said the boy is OK and has been treated and released from the hospital.
Durr's next court date is September 8.
