Car strikes pedestrian crossing road in Hope Mills

HOPE MILLS (WTVD) -- Hope Mills Police investigated an accident involving a pedestrian Friday night.

Eyewitnesses told an ABC11 crew at the scene that two people were trying to cross Cumberland Road near Hope Mills Road when one of them was struck by a car.

The person was flipped up onto the windshield then rolled off and beneath the car. The extent of their injuries was not known.

The car did stop at the scene.

Police have not yet updated the victim's condition and haven't said whether any charges will be filed.
