Sobriety checkpoints on the water and highways will make sure everyone has a safe Labor Day Weekend

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission is reminding people to be safe this weekend on the roads and on the water.

Starting Friday, drivers and boat operators across NC may encounter sobriety checkpoints or increased enforcement patrols to help deter impaired operation of vehicles and vessels.

It's part of the "On the road, on the water, don't drink and drive" campaign.

The annual multi-agency initiative works to ensure everyone can travel safely on the road and on the water during summer holidays.
