Mom, boyfriend accused of putting child in dryer

An Alamance County mother and her boyfriend are behind bars after being accused of putting her child in a clothes dryer on Friday.

Burlington Police arrested Heather Rowland, 25, and her boyfriend, Eric Chambers, 37, both of Burlington. The incident happened on Rolling Road.

Police said the child had minor visible injuries and has been placed into the temporary custody of relatives.

Both Rowland and Chambers were charged with one count of misdemeanor child abuse. Chambers was also charged with one count of assault on a child younger than 12.

Both are being held in the Alamance County Jail. Rowland is being held under a $2,500 secured bond. Chambers is being held under a $5,000 secured bond.
