Despite being hours away from the release of the new iPhone 7, the line was wrapped around the Apple Store at the Streets at Southpoint Mall in Durham early Friday morning.
By 4:30 a.m., there were already more than two dozen people camped out in anticipation.
However, Apple has said the phones would be in short supply.
The company says walk-in customers won't be able to get the iPhone 7 Plus, because those were all snatched up by pre-orders.
Non-Apple retailers though, like Best Buy, may still have them in stock.
